Volunteer Opportunities
Thanks for helping ASHA to support our students at Amsterdam!
You can complete the Volunteer Interest Survey, or read about opportunities below and contact the committee chairs directly.
In-Classroom Volunteering:
- Art Appreciation - Every month, a different parent shows pre-selected art from a certain artist or genre, and the kids do a craft project to match. No experience needed! All the materials and instructions are provided. Contact Caroline Bartolucci.
- Life Skills - A district-wide program that helps children make healthy life choices. 2 parents in each classroom present on grade-specific topics such as conflict resolution, bullying, and drugs. The presentation is usually in January or February. You will attend a 1-hour training session in the fall, and receive the curriculum and all materials. Contact Mike Corsello.
- Class Parents/Class Parties - Each class has 3 parties during the year, with fun games and activities for the kids. The Class Parent is the main volunteer coordinator for each class, and additional volunteers help organize the parties and take photos. Contact Yira Bermudez or Gina Betkowski.
